Our GY's are rivering and GY does not seem to respond to my emails or phone calls. I have called GY customer service and even left a voice message for one of the VP's. GY knows of the rivering problem and have chosen to just not talk to anyone who has this problem. How can a company make a tire that becomes junk in 25,000 miles?? I have been looking at various tire mfr. web sites and really do not see much that will work. The GY's are a nice handling tire but I could never use them again. The Michelins are alright but pricey. I have had them on other RV's with no problems but there are a lot of cracking complaints. The Hankooks would work if they made my size 295/80. A few of the majors make that size but they are either not for steers or are for garbage trucks. Some of this size do not have the 7830 load rating. I am wondering what others have done?

I have GY on my coach and have no issues, but then I won't put 25k miles on them before they are switched out. Have you tried calling the tire store where you bought them? In the past when I have had issues with the tires I bought for the cars and SUV I have called the store where I purchased and they took care of everything.

Good Luck
Arnold

At about 25,000 miles, I moved the right-front (which was rivering) to the right-rear, bringing the right-rear up front. Now these tires are "aging out" at 7+ years and 55,000 miles, so it's time to replace all. Since on the right-rear, the rivering tire has worn without further incident. FYI.

moisheh.....I'm guessing only your front tires are rivering. Why don't you move them to the tag and put the tags up front. If they have a problem later, at least they'll be on the tag. Move them straight back so they continue in the same direction.

** If you can get someone to leave Goodyear a phone message in Chinese, they'd probably respond since that's where all of our tires and rubber is going......driving up the prices.

If I were sticking the 295's this would have beeen my choice https://www.bfentirenet.com/product_...7&partial=true

Bridgestone 280 series. Same tread design as the FS400 315 Firestones that Dick (Ivylog) and I are running on the fronts. The 315's are such a huge ride improvement that even DW noticed it, and we do have Koni's on the DYN. If you have room and some do, that would be the way to go. The right front air bag is the only limiting factor, as Monaco moved it several inches either way depending on floor plans. I have seen 315's as stock front from the factory on some RR10 chasssis.

My rivering GY's were all moved to the front until I ran out of tires, they do fine on the rears, BUT I surely will not replace them with more GY's. :(

RE: your post on rvnet about 12R's. If you look at the rear suspension clearances you will see yhat 295's are pretty tight, I don't think 12Rs will fit on the drive axle.

I am considering 11R's H for drive/tag because I know my wheel position weights and would be comfortable with those mostly because trying to replace a 295 on the road looks like a real crapshoot and I have beenlucky so far. 11Rs are available everywhere, as are the 315sJ because they are a commercial bus tire.

Just my thoughts as I move closer to replacement time on the rear six.

After 20K my GY were rivering as well. Local GY store claimed they'd never seen it before and couldn't offer help. Replaced with Michelin's but kept the old GY's. Finally got a number for area rep. and after much persistance on my part they reimbersed me 80% of new GY retail so long as I returned the old tires. Not easy but no manual labor and it was worth it in the long run.

Thanks for the replies. I cannot go back to the dealer as these tires were OEM when I bought the unit! I did think of moving them to the tag to the tag but want a tire shop to see them first. In some areas of the rivering it almost looks like chunks are coming off. Installing 315's would require a trial fit. And as I stated I will not buy any tires without the decoupling groove or rivering will occur. That link to the Bridgestone's does not show the 295/80's.

Hi,
I replaced mine with Contenentals HSR 2SA 295/80/22.5 but I looked at the Bridgestone R250 295/80/22.5 and Michelins. All had the 7800 lbs load rating single. I,ve only got 2300 miles on the continentals so will know more in the fall when we travel more. I have them on the drives because I replaced my steers with Michelins after my GY crapped out in 25 K like yours. No help from GY, no tires from GY on anY of our four vehicles, ever.
My opinion on GY,s for non RV use is OK but I do believe that GY,s warranty is not to be trusted. I believe when not happy with a company vote with your feet!!!

moisheh -- The front Goodyear tires on our 07 Camelot started rivering at 15000 miles -- Rotated them to left rear -- In another 15000 miles the rivering started again -- The front end was in alignment, & kept close watch on air pressure -- Got tired on the noisy, & rivering tires, & when we were in Oregon last year, we had Michelin`s put on all around -- Oregon has no sales tax, & had best prices -- The Goodyear tires was 3 years old at the time -- Bill Willard

Last two Monaco coaches came with GYs. Both had rivering on front at 25K - 30K miles. GY dealer said he had never seen before, GY was no help. Replaced fronts on first coach with Toyo, second coach with Bridgestone. Maybe time to refuse delivery of new coach from Monaco with GY tires.

You can order the Michelin tire as an option for your Monaco when you order your coach. It was a $301.00 option on my Sig in 2008.

moisheh, now would be good time to join Monaco International (part of FMCA) they have worked a deal with Michelin for fleet prices.

cb5300: Thanks for the info. I already get that fleet price through the Bluebird group. Same program. I was pi--ed this morning and called GoodYear AGAIN. She got ahold of my dealer and he is trying to get a different rep to look at the tires. Even if they do nothing I am still stuck with the cost of breaking down the tires and changing location. I do not know what the tag rims will look like on the inside. This PM I was looking at more tires and the Continental that one poster mentioned is interesting. Other than Michelin and GY they are the only ones that have a tire for busses and RV's. They even have an RV tire manual. I did see them online at almost the same price as a Michelin. With the Club discount the Michelins will be less

Moisheh, I had the same problem with my 05 diamond IV floorplan with 45,000 miles on the GY's. Ivylog and I talked about going to 315's. I went to Boulevard Tire in Deland, Fl and we looked at the 315 option. They would fit but I only had 1/4 to 3/8" clearance from the airbag plate and I didn't want to risk the chance that it would rub. I went with the Michelin 295's and so far I have been very pleased with the ride and wear. (only about 6000 miles). I am not sure why the clearance was minimal compared to Ivylog's coach but I remember his being more than that. I guess the floorplan could have an effect but I don't see how as I would think that the roadmaster chassis would be standard in those years.
