19" CRT to 26" flat panel. Additional amplified stereo TV speakers underneath the TV with subwoofer inside cabinet that require no extra remote control. All speakers operate off the TV volume button

Big improvement, much cleaner looking. Better than the factory install.

I am looking to do the same thing regarding amplifying the TV output. My Samsung does not have a headphone jack so I can't see a way to do this unless I use the component video/audio output jacks. Only problem with that is nothing higher then 480i for video output.

How did you set yours up?

Thank you all.

A ton of wasted $ on various stains and clears to obtain the original color and finish. I'm sure the original color has yellowed with age...which is why the hassle to get a match for the new wood. I was attempting the "factory" look. I didn't want to go over or under with the woodwork in an attempt to match all the other woodwork.

I had a headphone jack on the TV, which allows the TV volume controls(on set or remote) to change the aux speakers I have used. My TV has bass and treble controls, so I can fine tune the speakers as well. I took the headphone jack availability into the equation for picking a TV. I didn't go high $ on the set as we do not snowbird or full time and when we do use the RV....we are most of the time always outside...so it will get little use.

We just finished one very similar to yours. Not as difficult as I anticipated it to be. We didnt put in the soundbar underneath as you did, but looking at yours I may go back and add it because it just looks better with than without. I finally just gave up on trying to match the stain. I got it fairly close but no cigar. But in the end it suits us and thats what matters anyway. Plus the new 32" tv is so much lighter and such a great picture. Thanks for posting your work.
