Newbie La Palma

I am looking at a 2008 La Palma. Diesel.
Salesman says it is 32. I see no records of this year and this size. It is some distance to go measure. Who is correct?

Welcome.

There should be more numbers/letters to identify which model it is. Is salesman referring to 32 as a model number or is that the length? It's not unusual for a model number (32 in your example) to be somewhat longer or shorter.

Trailing arm issues are a concern with the la palma. Study up on that before you purchase.

The trailing arm issues are on the rr4r chassis. The LaPalma is on the I think RSR chassis. It's very similar to the workhorse gas chassis but with a rear diesel and Allison tranny. I've heard from some that say that it's not the greatest handling chassis but others said it's decent. You'd have to decide on that. I think the caveat to that chassis is it only has like a 4000# tow rating. HTH.

You can look up complete info on th 2008 LaPalma by typing "2008 Monaco LaPalma Brochure" into Google. Choose the options on Monacos' home page and it will lead you right to all the info you need.

They did NOT build a 32' in 2008. They built a 34 & 36 in diesel. Also a 38 in rear gas. There were 5 different models/sizes built that year.

We had a 2000 LaPalma gasser for 6 years and we loved it.

Newbie

Thanks everyone. Salesman called today confirming it is indeed a 34. 30 was our size limit, we overlooked 2 but canít overlook 4 so deal is off.
We have driven classic Gmc for 20 years. Loved everything except low towing capacity and what we thot was too many repairs.
Should have kept it.
What is classic and not 40 years old?
