Nextar GPS?
My rig came with a 5 year old Nextar 7" GPS.
I noticed on the web-site "Product Exchange" send money order for $87.00. The new unit will be shipped within 7 to 10 business days.
$87.00 sounds like a deal for a new up-dated 7" screen GPS. Do any of you know about this deal for an exchange.
Do you guys know about a Nextar 7" GPS. I now have a Garmin 1490t.
Thanks
Larry

Larry...--I went to their website and it looks like you can trade in any old Nextar unit for their "Q4" model which is a 4" unit. Would still be a good deal.

Hi Mr. Diplomat Don. Thanks for your input. My Garmin 1490t has a 5" screen and seems to work great.
I travel alone without a navigator and really depend on my GPS. I was just hoping the "trade in" would be for a 7" display. Heck, if it's a 4" I might as well save my money.
I'll keep you informed it it's a 7" trade in.
Larry
P.S. Mr. Don, I think you were at the Beaudry Monaco rally this past March in Tucson. I was there also. Very interesting what the so called new Monaco had to say. Seemed to me they are very confused and are headed for another trip over the cliff.

Mr. itdave. I will check out the Magellen Roadmaster 1700. My old Garmin 760 once routed me from Kerriville, Tx thru Weatherford, Tx on my way to Grove, Ok. OH No!! it sent me through round abouts, narrow roads with all kinds of stop lights, stop signs and tight curves. I have 40ft MH with a 23ft trailer. I didn't realize how bad the route was until I was too far in to turn around. Yes..RV routing would be great. Thanks.

Nextar does not trade for 7" screen like the one you send them to be up-dated. They only send some 4.3" screen. Sound like they still have 7" screens..not part of the trade in.
I will stay with my Garmin 5" 1490t.

I have a factory installed Garmin 52 that shares the 7" Voayager display with my cameras. I like the rear view camera and don't like the split screen view of the GPS. I also don't like losing the GPS view when the turn signal is on. When the turn signals are on the screen displays the appropriate side camera.
I just bought a Magellan 1700, 7" display, for $200. I like it! I'm considering the Truck/RV routing software, but would like to know if it's really worth it. Anyone have practical experience? It sells for $150, so I don't want it if it's only marginally better.

I had the CoPilot software on my computer for 3 years until I upgraded to Vista and CoPilot didn't work well with Vista. The routing worked I never got routed under a low clearance bridge however non of my other GPS have routed me under low bridges so not sure of the value of RV option. I was under the impression that the software was included not sure I would pay 150 for CoPilot.
