Hello again, I have a question about the tv set up we can not get the cable tv to work it was fine at the last place we were at but now it wont work. I used the neighbors hook up which works in their fiver and it still wont work. I have pushed every button on the switcher by the tv set and it still doesnt work. We can watch DVD but no cable television. We have a 2004 Diplomat and this is the first problem we have had with the cable system. Can anyone help? By the way Im not very electronic Savy.

I am sure you have done this but I did have a problem once because when I connected the cable TV cable to the box in the compartment is I connected to the Sat TV input instead of the Cable TV input on my 06 Endeavor it is easy to miss read. Also if you can get to the back of one of the TV did you try connecting it directly to the campground cable jack. Hopefully some one with the same rig as you can provide more help.

Two things that will kill cable.

One: Sometimes you get a bad cable. Using a different cable works

Two: Sometimes, epically if the center wire is cut a bit...ur...short.. It fails to make connection with the jack..

Or.. It can bend over and short out.

Sometimes a new jack or a new cable end is indicated (or a new cable)

Monaco also had a "joker" on the assembly line for a while that was reversing the connections in the elect compartment. He/She was hooking the "Cable" connector to the "TV" connector. I personally had this in my Diplomat, and know of several others that were wired this way.

Our 2007 Endeavor was reversed at the outside compartment connection. I had a feeling that was what was happening. This year I was bored and got around to switching them to the correct designation. I helped my friend figure it out on his 06 Endeavor. A little Tom Foolery in Wakarusa perhaps.

In my opinion it was a just a poor job of labeling the two jacks. If I used the cable jack in the electrical compartment very often I would draw a big red circle around the cable plug so I would remember which on to connect.

That same guy must've assembled my '07 Endeavor, as well. The first time I tried to use the cable input (on our second ever trip with the rig) I had a heck of a time getting it to work. I called the park office, and they said a few of their sites were out, so try hooking to a different site. No help. Then on a lark, I tried the Sat input, and it worked! A few minutes with a screwdriver to open up that box and swap them back took care of that once and for all.

But I still kept trying to hook to the wrong port. So a minute with a label maker and now I have clear easy to read labels, and I don't ever (well, hardly ever) get them mixed up now.
