When we first got our 08 Dynasty I was hooked up in a CG. Got into the shower and ran the water. In seconds there was no water. I figured the CG had a water problem and turned on the pump. After the shower it was fine. This has a happened about 5 times since , all in different CG's. I checked the hose reel and there is water at the outlet of the reel. Monaco says it could be the water pressure regulator. The pump and all the lines are buried behind the water manifold. Anyone know where to find that regulator? Anyone had that problem?

Thanks

Is the loss of water in the shower only or the whole coach?

No clue, Moisheh, we don't have a built in regulator. I would also suspect the regulator or the check valve in the whole house water filter. Thankfully, we do not have the factory installed water hose reel, I have not heard many kind words about it (kinking, etc). I have an aftermarket hose reel that is more manual than the OEM but very simple and reliable. Even though there is water at the hose real it may be kinked or collapsed somewhere.

Try bypassing the reel altogether with another hose. Also check to see if the water tnk can be filled thru the reel , that will eliminte it too along with the regulator I think. Yours is greaatly different than mine so I'm guessing a bit here.

I had a similar problem with mine and discovered the water hose had a kink in it right at the connection to the power reel. Once straightened it's worked fine. I doubt you have an internal regulator to be concerned about.

Thx. for the replies. No water is in the whole coach. Hose is not kinked and I undid the out fitting on the reel and there is water at this point. It is very hard to see inside that area but it seems the hose from the reel goes to the water pump or maybe to a valve attached to the pump. We are on the road and I dont want to monkey too much. I might try undoing a line at the water manifold. If i could see the pump and all the hoses this would be an easy diagnosos but the pump is mounted to the rear of a steel panel. I might have to remove the reel.

Thanks

We do not have a hose reel but beyond that the systems should be basically the same. You should be able to fill the water tank by using a diverter valve mounted in the water works bay. That's the way ours is. When you have the water pump on there must be a check valve to prevent water from running back out the city water supply hose. If that valve is stuck it may be the problem. I just looked at ours and without removing the panel in the water works bay I can't tell where the check valve is.

Mine is a Knight, so the probability of the plumbing being different is pretty high. It looks like mine comes in the hose reel, then out the right side and over to the diverter valve for the tank fill. A line then goes south, and I believe over to the water pump.

Thank you for going to the trouble of taking a picture. Yes the Dynasty is quite different. All of the water lines are behind a door. Inside is a Monoblok water distribution system. It is raining right now but I will take another look when it is drier.

Thanks

Thanks to your photo I became inspired! Well sort of. I did some investigating and the pump, pressure tank and assorted lines can be acccesed by crawling into the adjoining bay and opening a sliding divider. We are on the road and I will do this when we get home. I am convinced there must be a check valve in that area. There are times when having a Dynasty makes things difficult. K.I.S.S. does not apply. I am used to our 02 Bounder DP which was very simple. Yesterday the multiplex wiring system started to act up. The bathroom lights would not work yet the switches were lit. Being an old computer guy I knew what to do. Shut off all battery power and everything reset. If this keeps up I will have everything "aced" in about 4 years!!

I think I found the problem today. There is a check valve in the system near the water pump. I believe the purpose is to prevent water entering the fill hose when you are using the water pump. I removed the check valve and all the little pieces fell out!! Monaco uses a Quest plastic valve and it is not very sturdy. I manged to reassemble the valve as I was unable to obtain one from the useless RV dealers in my area. I will replace it when I find one at a decent dealer. Seems to work OK. If my unit did not have a hose reel Monaco would have used a city water inlet with a built in check valve made of brass!!!
