Had the exact problem with my 2001 Windsor this week. Was changing a left taillight bulb and must have knocked the same switch. I was at my wits end testing every fuse and relay. Thank goodness for this site, I could not believe this easy and free fix.

I think I'd duct tape that switch so the problem wouldn't occur again.

I've never heard of switch to do that.

Good to see this thread helped someone else too!
Man I remember just being so lost as to what to do. 10 minutes after I posted this I had the answer.

The switch is so if someone is working on the motor, they can start it, or turn it over if needed. But no one can jump in the drivers seat and start it while someones got their fingers in there.
Makes sense once one knows....
