Noobie battery question

My 1999 Holiday Rambler has 4 12volt batteries for the "house" batteries. These look fairly new and seem to be in good order. They do take a charge and hold it.
Question: The label states that these are AGM type batteries. I removed one of the caps and noticed that the cell was dry. Is this normal? Are AGM type batteries typically "dry" as opposed to "flooded"?

I thought AGM batteries were sealed, therefore no caps.
What brand of battery are they and is there a # on them?
Here is a link to some reading on different battery types, including AGM's. They also state that they are sealed. And yes, from what I read, they would appear to be dry.

AGM = Absorbed Glass Mat
What this means is that instead of just flooding liquid acid (H2SO4) in between the lead plates, they place a glass mat (kind of like a fiberglass mat but made out of boron-silicate) in between the lead plates and that mat is saturated (absorbed) with the acid. So, technically, an AGM is still a "wet cell" (as opposed to a gel-cell) but because the wet part is totally absorbed in the matting, it isn't "flooded" (sloshing around) like a typical wet/flooded cell battery. The advantages of an AGM are quite numerous and the cost is nearly double a conventional flooded cell battery.

So yes, if you could look in an AGM (I too thought they were all sealed because they really can be) it would appear to be dry - i.e. no acid sloshing around.
