Norcold 1200LR

If anyone is doing the residential fridge upgrade and has some Norcold doors they don't need pm me please. In the interim how are we fixing the seal when the thin edge splits at the thicker part of the gasket?

Before mine quit completely, I had the splitting-gaskets too. Thought it'd be a simple matter to get new gaskets from NotCold. HA! You gotta buy a whole new door.

I tried several types of glues/cements, but finally just ended up using some good quality 3M electrical tape over the splits. That seemed to hold the best.

Good luck.

Thanks. I bought some liquid nails silicone and some gorilla tape. It's too bad because I like my new Amish cooling unit!

I'm on the west coast and have a set of doors with black seals instead of white seals on my unit. Wondering if black or white seals split? Jeff753 you are welcome to them.

I tried 3M electrical tape and it worked for awhile, but it wasn't flexible enough when it got cold. Black Gorilla tape has lasted over 2 years. The fridge runs fine on setting 6. The box temp is below 38 degrees and the ice cream is firm.

FWIW, the ARP controller and blower made an appreciable difference in fridge performance, too. https://www.arprv.com/ Well worth the money.

Cheers,
