Some people on this forum have been having bad luck with the door hinges on their Norcolds. You might list the doors in the classified section and help someone out in the process.

Probably end up doing that. Might try craigslist first, but I think the large size limits it use in only the larger MHs or 5th wheelers. And then the shipping on it is a problem too.

Put mine on Craigslist for $200 and had the first call and sold it within 30 minutes of posting. Had 4 more calls before I had time to delete it later in the afternoon. Put some pictures with the listing. I think that helps.

I probably could have sold it for more but I just wanted it gone.

Personally, if I had one of the Norcold fridges that were under recall, it would go staight to the dump. I could not give/sell anything that has been designated a hazhard of this magnitude to someone else even if they new of the potential problems.

A used motorhome dealer bought mine.....and......if he hadn't bought mine he would have bought one somewhere else.
Noble thought though

Sold mine on Craigs List for $300. The guy came with a couple of friends and took it out the door. Didn't want to wait till I did it. Apparently they are popular among folks "going off the grid".

Before I ordered the new Samsung I looked on the local Craigs list to see if there were any Norcold 1200's listed and what they were asking - There were 2 listed at $1200 and $1400. So I listed mine at $950 - Has several calls and emails - actually had 2 scammers who offered full price and they would arrange a truck to pick it up - sight unseen - with a "cashiers check carried by the driver". Then I had an email from a rancher 3 hours out of Phoenix who lived off the grid and his Norcold 810 had died. He came and bought it for his home - Said most folks in his area use LP refrigerators - He was also very familiar with the Norcold problems and was pleased that my unit had the recalls performed.
Just got the Samsung 2 days ago and can't wait to get it in this weekend.

Used ours for the first time this week on a 5 day trip. It does work great is an understatement. The temps stayed a consistent -2 in the freezer and 38 in the fridge, even when running on the inverter. Plus, lots of room compared to the Norcold. Even bought food for 20 people for our monthly family whoever has a birthday dinner at our house tomorrow. No problem storing the stuff for 3 pans of lasagna plus what we had brought to eat for the trip.

It seems we solve one problem only to have another one show up. Now the microwave/convection oven is acting up. It will run exactly 59 seconds and then shut itself off. Even does that on the convection setting. Taking it to my original dealer Wednesday as we have a Route 66 repair policy that is good thru 2013. The service manager told me he will probably replace it with a new one. Should cost me only $34 which is my dedcuctible. Used it once before for step repair and that was my cost. We'll see. Did not try to use it for the fridge as the Norcold was still working.

Put ours on Craigslist and here in the classifieds. Got a couple of calls but it would not fit in either of their rigs. Our cooling unit was replaced a year ago, paid for with an ESP so no fire hazard. Guess we don't have the right market near us to sell it.
