We have a Norcold 1200 in our 2003 Windsor. Does everyone with the recall fridges receive compensation?

We got a notification of the 'class action' last year. It told us we could join the action or opt-out. We have had our MH for over three years. I don't know how they knew we had a Norcold. It was only certain years the bad units were made. Maybe yours wasn't made during that period.

I was surprised not bad
No, But I did receive a check in the amount of $9.16........
Number 1 of the 4 checks I am to receive for a grand total of $37.11
over the next 4 years.......... I had 2 (two) Not-Cold fridges that went out.
One in my 5er and the 1200 series in the DP. Filed both.....

I sure hope you other guys/gals get a better shake than I did.
Here's mud in your eye Mister!........ Enjoy it........

Did you have a "1200" .. 2000's the main problem unit and file with the Serial number of the fridge ? My understanding is if you had the model number and serial number you got the full money esp if you currently owned it. if you didnt have the numbers ...well

It has be over 6 years.
I barely remember filing. The 5er had the double door over under. The DP had the side by side. Both where replaced with new versions of same. In hindsight I should have installed a house unit. Next time I will... If there is a next time.

That is so true .. their prices will go up for sure to cover the expense they certainly won't pay themselves or they'll just go bankrupt and start another company
Truth is I'll never willingly buy a norcold again . I found out on my last rv that regular cheaper standard electric fridges sip energy these days ... even boondocking I can use one .. but I have 960 watts of solar ... thank you to those who filed !
On the downside I'm so sorry for those that have lost their rigs or worse their lives due to norcold !

I like what you did with your check, Dupdyke. Probably feels great to "stick it to the (Notcold) Man".
They came up with a settlement of so many $$ per share of the class. Your share amounts were determined when you signed up with the class a year or more ago. If you are a current owner then you got 25 shares - the max as I recall. There were other levels of ownership or past ownership etc that determined how many shares you received.

I got my check for $229 the other day. I'll be interested to see if we ever collect the other 3 installments. I hope we do. But if Norcold goes under, then all bets are off. I assume the payout was split into 4 annual installments so it would not kill the company.
