The Dynasty has 46000 miles now and I am thinking of replacing the front shocks. The trip to Myrtle Beach was quite harsh on road/bridge seams.

At what mileage do the OEM shocks tend to wear out and need replacing? Any suggestions and where to order?

The OEM shocks were terrible when new. Most have been changing to the Koni FSD's. I did and love them. They reduced the sharp chop by 90%. They are pricey.....about $150.00 each x 8.

Wow, I've been wondering why my ride was so harsh. Guess we all better look at dumping the old/brand new factory installed shocks. To bad the upgrade shock version isn't offered at the factory. Doc

My 2008 Diplomat came with Monroe shocks, I changed them out at 7000 miles replacing them with Bilstein Comfort shocks and they are a marked improvement. Great control and not harsh. The Monroe's, when removed, were so weak that I could compress and extend them by hand very easily. The harsh ride that DocUSAF is experiencing may be the same as I experienced, no shocks!

I believe the Dynasty comes with heavy duty Bilstein's, (the Comfort shocks likely can't handle the weight of a Dynasty) and are guaranteed for as long as you own the vehicle (provided you are the original owner). Perhaps Bilstein will replace or repair them for you.

If not I would take MonacoDon's advice and seek out a set of Koni's, they are getting rave reviews.
