Hi Friends, I have a 96 Dynasty with the 8.3 Cummins. I need to know what to use to lube the Pac Brake? Also where to get some? Our Club is so wonderful to answer each others questions! Thanks for all you do! allegro5

Pacbrake Maintenance Camping World usually carries Pacbrake lube.

Finding lubricant for an exhaust brake here in Canada is like trying to find hen's teeth.

We have not been able to purchase the lubricant at any Camping World store that we stopped in at over the last couple of years.

I've been thinking of contacting the Pac Brake people to see if they can send me some? You would think that surely someone out there would have it!

I got a bottle at an FMCA rally some years ago. Still have most of it, I should dig it out and lube mine although I use it most of the time.

You can also use Tri-Flow to lubricate the PacBrake. I found it at ACE hardware along with other hardware places and automotive supplies.

Tri-Flow is very useful for many other purposes and I use it in place of WD-40. It actually freed up a very sticky automatic slide-out locking mechanism.

I went to Pacbrake , clicked on dealers, then find a dealer, sent them an e-mail and they told me that an injector pump service shop here in town was their dealer in my area. Although they did not have a bottle they ordered one in for me. I had it the next day.

Dr4Film,

I found some TriFlow at an Orchard Hardware store in San Jose, CA. Would you believe that between our home in Canada, and San Jose, CA, that was the ONLY place that had a lubricant that I could use for my Pac Brake? We checked at Camping Worlds, Freightliner stores, Cummins stores, finally went to a hardware store and found some.

I read on the Monacoers site that TriFlow is actually better than the lubricant that Pac Brake offers?

Jim,

It was from those posts on the Monacoers forum that encouraged me to try it. A little expensive but FAR better than WD-40 and other universal lubricants.

I've been using it for over one year now with awesome success but since I previously had not lubricated my PacBrake in 7 years, then switched it out for the PRXB upgrade model, I decided to try the Tri-Flow.

Hi Ted,

I remember my first trip to Saskatoon, a very nice city. The time of year was December and almost Christmas. By the way, decorations down town were beautiful and I loved walking up and down the streets of your fine city. At any rate, after we landed at the airport I hurried over to the rental car counter to pick up my car. The lady behind the counter handed me an ice scraper with a brush on the other end and an electrical extension cord. I said, "I understand what the ice scraper is for but what do I do with the extension cord"? That is when she told this naive Southern boy that it was to plug my car in. My first thought was it was an electrical car but she quickly cleared that up by telling me it was for the block heater. Sorry to hijack the thread but seeing where you were from brought back that memory.
