I am a new member, I've been onboard just 2 days!
My problem is with my 2006 Monaco Cayman.........my oil pressure gauge is totally buried to the right. I checked the oil and it is full. As soon as I turn the ignition on the oil pressure gauge just goes as far to the right as possible.

Thank you from the new kid on the block.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm sure an expert will be along soon to point you in the right direction but it sure sounds like something simple like a loose ground wire or sending unit.

Best of luck...

Rick

Welcome to IRV2! My educated guess would be a clogged oil passage causing back pressure, but someone with more knowledge will pop up shortly to help you out!! Did you change oil recently? Use the recommended viscosity? Could even be a bad gauge..

I really suspect a guage or wiring problem because the guage pegs as soon as the key is turned on without the engine even started.

I suspect you may have a bad oil sending unit. Turn your key on but don't start the engine. If your oil gauge reads zero then unplug the wire from the sending unit and see if it goes up to three. If it does then the sending unit is bad. If it doesn't then you may have a bad gauge or it's grounded somewhere along the line.
