Onan 10,000 Diesel Generator question

Is there a hidden reset button/switch somewhere on an Onan 10,000 Diesel Generator?

Thanks a lot y’all

The switch is the breaker. be sure to turn it fully off b4 turning it back on. In the tripped state, it will be in the middle.

Is the generator not running, or running, but not producing power?

Generator isn’t running at all. It ran beautifully with no problems for probably 40 hours before we left on our trip. It ran for the first three days of our trip to run the AC in 90 plus degree heat. The fourth day...nothing.
No engine or starter noises. Nothing. Just flashing lights on the switch. Tried priming and nothing happened.

Talked to an RV repair guy in ND and he said there would be another reset button on the generator, which is why I asked the question. But he may not have had a clue what he was talking about?

Like Ben asked, I’m guessing there’s an underlying question in there. We probably need to know more to help.

Well, since the start switch light is flashing, I don't believe it's the starter fuse burned out. You will have to follow the troubleshooting instructions in the owners manual, and see what code is being flashed on the light.
Manual will be online if you don't have a hard copy.

Whoops! Looks like I was typing at the same time as danibeth. They answered my question while I was asking.

Flashing lights on the switch? That is how you read the trouble codes. Do you have the operator manual for the generator? That discusses the fault code reading. Model number?

Hey DaniBeth, I notice your genset has over2000 hours on it. My manual says they should have the main drive belt changed at 1000 hrs. Have you changed yours? At what cost? Is yours on a slide?

check the code and the oil level, it has a low oil shutdown. may be what the code is trying to tell you

Danibeth - I see you only have 6 posts on this forum. From experience I can tell you the more you tell us the better the help.

Coach details in your signature is a good start, in this case what model number do you have. Do you have the manual? If you do look up how to read the codes - there are two sequences of flashing lights to read. The manual will tell you how to get them to re-start flashing, and how to read the first sequence, then how to get the second sequence to display and how to read them.

In almost all cases it will tell you what is wrong and then either the manual will tell you what to do, or someone on here can.

It is also normal for the start switch to flash (engine preheating). So the way it flashes is important. There is a printed chart on the generator that explains the flash codes.
