I have done internet searches for an hour and cannot find what the belt part
number is for my 10kw genset (hdcaa series a). I'm talking about the drive
belt/fan belt/squirel cage drive belt.

The one I got from cummins is a lot wider than the one that i took off the
genset. That could just be from wear on the old belt. Obviously the one on
there is not the same brand from Cummins.

We have an 02 Signature w/12.5kw Onan which is basically the same as your 10kw Onan. Last summer we installed Gates belt # 7320($15). Works great. Last a long time.

The old belt we took off was narrower.

We hope this helps

We also have a 00 Signature w/12.5 Onan. Yesterday I changed its fan belt w/Duralast#15330($9).

The old belt I took of was #17335. It was too wide for the pully groves. It was a little loose and wearing badly.

We hope this helps?

OK, here is the answer to the puzzle according to Cummings-ONAN parts guy here in Atlanta (you can call them and verify if you want at 404.763.0151). There are three belts that can be used on that model HDCAA series A ONAN and it all depends on the first three digits in the serial number of the unit so I can understand the confusion. There is a tag on the lower side of the ONAN that gives the serial number.

For serial numbers that start with J99 and older (So J99, J98, J97 and on) it is a ONAN part number 511-0210

For serial numbers that start with G01 and newer (So G01, G02, G03 and on) it is a ONAN part number 511-0212

For serial numbers between J99 and G01 but not including J99 and G01 it is a ONAN part number 541-1047
