The people on this forum have been a great help to me in the past and now I have traveled from the MS coast to Salt Lake City and am continuing on to Oregon. While there, I plan to stop at the factory and try to get a spur of the moment service. Is the service and factory at the same location on Industrial Way and has anyone had any success with this approach? I Called and was certainly too late to schedule an appointment. I have travelled for over a year without a speedo or odometer and hope they have a fix!
Thanks again,
David

Since this appears not to be a warranty issue I would suggest that you also look around town for an independent service facility as a backup plan. My guess is that they will not be able to squeeze you in as a drive-up. You are also likely to save a great deal of money vs. a factory repair if you can find a good qualified service center in the area.

After the BK by Monaco and the buyout by Navistar I don't believe Monaco LLC offers factory service any more. Here is the number from the Holiday Rambler Web site to check on service centers (877) 466-6226.

Give Guaranty RV a call in Junction City. The service advisor is Mark Kelson. 800-379-5332 or 541-998-4285x4269. Last Sept. Coburg was just starting up working on coaches and they only had 3 techs working. The earliast they could get me in was Nov. They called Guaranty for me and set up an appointment for me in a day. My issue was sheared bolts on a slideout rod attached to the motor. We were in and out of there in 2 hrs. It was the end of the day and they wanted to make sure everything was ok and they offered us a place to park and 50 amp power. The next day they ran the slideout out and made sure it was adjusted properly. We were very happy with the experiance we had at Guaranty. Walt and Jackie

When I was last out at the factory about six months ago, they were offering service, but recommended calling in for a reservation. Though they were taking walk-ins, they were concentrating on emergencies and appointments.
The service center is right next to the factory, sort-of the same parking lot, but you have to go out on the road to get to the next parking lot.
They also will allow you, if space available, to overnight on your way by, if you are a Monaco product. We spent two night there.
They still have tours, and it was nice to see.
I really do not like how things went with downfall and takeover of Monaco and think they could have done a much better job of it. But I love my Monaco and still think there upperend products are one of the top three of coaches that most people can "afford". Yes I like Prevost, Wanderlodge and Newall, but unless I win the lottery, these are out of my consideration, Period.

I called yesterday and got an appointment in June. I have a problem with my coach that my dealer can't find/repair, so I am going to the experts to hopefully get'er fixed once and for all.
They have campsites available and I am going the day before my appointment and spending the night.
I hope they are worth the extra $20/hr they charge over my dealer...

David- the area is swimming w/qualified (and probably a number of unqualified) tech's as a result of the wreckage of the big coach end of the RV industry. You should be able to locate service. Check into a local campground and start asking around. Lots of folks travel to the area for service in the spring/summer/fall. Should be mobile tech's as well as shops well stocked w/help, and Guaranty is always going to get high marks.

There is a Coach Care right across the street from Monaco in Coberg. I have had satisfactory work done there on both my Monaco and now my Newmar. Call for an appointment if you are interested. They also have about 6-8 hookup sites (no sewer) and lots of room for dry camping.

David,
What Ronnie said. 541-685-0800 or toll free 866-236-2167. We've had two very satisfactory service experiences with them. It would be surprising if they had any trouble repairing your speedo/odometer problem.

Thanks a lot guys and I appreciate the information very much. The problem is apparently complicated as I have had it to two dealers and an independent shop in Alabama and none of them could trace the problem. It apparently started with a simple reset and turned in to a loss of communication with the computer and a dead short. No speedo, no odometer and no cruise control. In the meantime I am on my second coast to coast trip since the problem occurred and could sure use some releif! No one in south MS or AL is even interested in attempting a fix.
Thanks again and I will use the advice in about a week when I get into the area. Currently we are in Winnemucca, NV heading for the Redwood National Park in the next few days, then on up into Oregan.

The old Beaver factory in Bend also has a very good service center. ( I think it is) We have had good luck with them.

Are you talking about RV Outfitters, across the street from the old Beaver service center? If so I agree, we are setting here in Bend today with an appointment Tuesday. We came over here 3 years ago on the recommendation of several folks and have been very happy with the service and the lower price, over the Eugene area. Jim and Greg are former Beaver employees and have been in their own business since 2001.
