Outlets Powered by Inverter?

Ran a check with the inverter on to see which outlets had power. Of 12 outlets only 2 were being powered by the inverter. TV also is not powered by the inverter.

What controls which outlets are hooked to the inverter? And can more (at least two in bedroom and the TV) be added?

Should be more than that on inverter but not all. Check your GFI.........probably in bath room. When mine pops I lose the TV and some others.

Part of the deal when I bought my 07 Diplomat was to have it rewired for all outlets to be on inverter. It was a pretty big job. Took the guy most of a day to do.

Most of our rigs have two circuits coming out of our Inverters. One is typically dedicated to the microwave, and the other feeds the majority of the receptacles including the front & rear TVs and satellite receiver. I'm surprised at your finding that the TVs don't run from your inverter.....unless your TVs are running on 12VDC (this would be really unique).

Not real familiar with HR/Monaco wiring although we do work on one every now and then. Could you give us the type of inverter? I assume you've checked all the circuit breakers, should be 2 on the inverter. At least turn them off and back on once. Problem could be failure of the transfer switch in the inverter if everything powers up on shore power and generator. Someone already mentioned the GFCI breakers that we forget about.

The technician who installed it, of course.

There are two or two by two different inverter installs.

One of the "Two's" is "in-line" or "Stand Alone", An inline has 120vac in, 12o volt out and 12 volt bi-directional. It can usually charge the battery, Think UPS on steroids and you have a good idea of what it is.

The Stand Alone has 12 volt in and 120 volt out only.

The other two is Plug in or wired, IN-lines are normally wired and stand alone types are normally plug in.

On the plug in type there are outlets on the inverter.. You plug into it, Selected outlets may actually be "Extension cords" of a sort.

However the In-line types the 120 volt system looks like this

Source = Generator or shore power

Shource ---Main Breaker box--Branch breaker-----Inverter---Sub Box--Branch Breakers---Loads

In this case to make a circuit inverter powered,, Locate the branch breaker that powers it in the main box. Disconnect and move it, breaker and all, to the SUB panel. (Second breaker box or, in some cases, a 2nd section of the main box)

As far as I know all of ours are powered when on the inverter and I've had 9½ years to find out!
How big is the inverter? On our 2000 DSDP we only had a 400 watt unit and it only powered the front TV and VCR.
On the present 2002 DSDP we have a 2000 watt inverter and it powers almost everything (not the heat pumps nor refer though).
