Hello All, I have a question about Outside Windshield Shades. My 2001 Dynasty came with a set of Shades the type that are mounted with snaps installed around the windows (I have the windshield, drivers window, passengers window, and wiper covers I do not have the door shade). I have never liked the idea of drilling holes anywhere on my prior motorhomes but these were already done. I am not even sure if I will use them on our trips we tend to travel to new places never staying for more than a few days in one place.
Here is my question: My motor home is stored in a Yard and not used during the winter. It is not covered more damage has been done from abrasion from the tie downs in my past MHs. The windows are all covered from the inside with Mylar reflective covers to protect the inside. Since I have these outside covers I was wondering if I should cover the Windshield to protect from hail or the occasional Missiles launched from the Yards snow clearing machines. Even though I may never use them for their intended purpose I would rather not destroy them. Does anyone know if they would last through a Winter of ice and snow? These are made by "Cool Shade",they don't seem to be in business any longer so I cannot ask them.
thanks, comments welcome

Robert

I would definitely put them on, at min they give another insulation boundary to the areas that are probably the biggest convector of the outside temperature. Also as you stated another layer of protection.

I use all of mine most of the year, however if you have NO plans to use them for their intended purpose, it makes perfect sense to have them on for added protection during the wintertime. At least you won't have to replace a chipped or broken windshield due to unknown missiles attacking your window.

Thanks for the responses. Has anyone had any experience with these screens becoming damaged from freezing and snow?
thanks
