I just turned on the overhead kitchen light and nothing happened. I checked the fuse in the closet and it seems fine....any ideas? Is there a fuse or breaker in the electrical compartment somewhere?

Check the battery switch by the entry door, ... it sometimes gets bumped.

Hmmmmmmmm.....I left the switch on and after about 15 minutes it came on. One of the mysteries of motorhome living I guess.

nutensteve,
If that is the light I think you are referring to it is a fluorescence. You may have a bad starter or bad tube.

Nodine....Yes it is the large flourescent light above the sink. So far it has kept working all day but if it happens again I'll check the bulbs.

Assuming you've already replaced the fluorescent tube. Does the tube fit tight in the tube sockets?
Use a Digital Multi-Meter (DMM) to check for available volts (B+) at light switch (12.5 VDC). If an electrical load is applied, the voltage will drop to around zero if there is a poor connection on either the B+ or B-, or both.
If your DMM reads even 2 volts between the the ballast B- and a good ground, start looking for poor electrical connections.
A good ballast should be warm if it's good and hot to real hot if bad. Some ballasts get so hot they expand, drip, and stink.
