Has anyone swapped out their older PacBrake for the newer PRXB and done it themselves? The time has come due to age and lack of prior lubrication to upgrade. I'm wondering if it is an easy swap or if anyone has run into problems which would encourage me to have someone else do it. Thanks! Jack

Jack: It's a piece of cake. Just did it on a 1995 vintage Monaco Dynasty Cummins C. As I remember, I paid $599 on line for the new brake. PacBrake CS is weak I got the wrong part twice based on their input. Prying off the old clamps was the only difficult part. I used a pointy nosed breaker bar.

Changed mine out this past winter on my 95 Dynasty 8.3 cummins. Be sure and order new clamps for the PRXB. Tried to use the old clamps and they are different. Had to order new ones. Install was easy.

Thanks, guys! I have time to work on it as it's parked most of the time. With your input, I feel better tearing into it. I'm looking forward to a better unit! Jack

I'm an old dude and I replaced my Jacob's Joke brake with the PRXB in about 30 minutes. Mine came with new full Marmon clamps which I did use. I sold my old Jacob's Joke brake on ebay for $120 + shipping and included the old Marmon clamps that were still good. Be sure to lube the pivot points on the new brake during the install.
