"Park Brake Not Set" message

My 09 Monaco Camelot has a problem with the parking brake system. The brake seems to operate correctly, the noise is the usual air dump, and the coach won't move when its set. (All good) However, when I turn off the motor with the brake set I get a message on the LCD panel over the steering column stating "Park Brake Not Set" and a repeating ping.

I am guessing that this might be an air pressure sensor that has failed, but where is it? Suggestions?

It's on the back of the parking brake button. Search the forum for "Nason Switch" and you'll get a lot of reading material.

Agreed. The sensor/switch is located on the back side of the park brake valve and is quite easy to replace. This is more than likely your issue.


You may be able to access it through the side panel opening in the panel by removing the cover and reaching up under the console panel but I have found it easier to access by simply removing the screws and raising the side panel/console up.

I got that yesterday when leaving storage area....

all seemed well though and noticed that the air gauges were a little low...

but shortly it corrected and the message went away, so I, maybe incorrectly, assumed it just needed to build air pressure...
