Parking brake problem

When we release the air brake on our 2005 Diplomat and start driving, the alarm bonging continues for up to several minutes...other times it's only for afew seconds. What's causing this??? It's driving us nuts!!!

I (and others) have (or have had) this problem. Take a look at the thread:
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/brak...arm-57322.html

and in particular, Rex's answer.

As for me: I disregard the alarm....which usually shuts off within 30 seconds.

Check your fluid level if you have hydraulic jacks.

Jim look at eBay Item number: 170622097477 to see what the switch looks like. The seller is asking $40 but has a Make Offer selection and I know he looks at any offer. You might get it for $30 and that would be a good place to start your offer.

The switch is easy to change and you do not have to dump air to do it. Just set the Park Brake first.

Jim....Some additional info.....Rex is right about making an offer. I believe I only paid about $45.00 to have Monaco ship the part to my house.

You need to remove the side panel by your left knee. Unscrew the chrome brake release knob and remove. There are three screws that hold the brake release to the panel. You can see them as you look down while seated in the driver's seat. There are small nuts on the underside, so don't drop them into the maze of wiring. You can now slip the parking brake out into the open. You'll see the pressure switch on the end. Disconnect the wires (connector) and then use a wrench to remove. I used pipe sealant tape when I installed the new one. Replace and your done......no more annoying alarm!
