Parking on a slope

I frequently load my MH in front of my home, which happens to be on a hill. I know it is not good for the 2 way fridge if the coach isn't level but how level does it need to be? Does it still need to be level if I am on shore power? Thanks all.

Needs to be <3* on elec or propane. If it feels like your walking up or down a hill, leave the fridge off !

RV absorption type fridges depend on the flow of the refrigerant...

When I had one that didn't work regularly, the dealers diatribe was that if had to be within 3 degrees +- of level... you aren't parking level, even though I was... he didn't care to say the truth - that there was an issue with the fridge itself

I am not a fan having thrown out more thawed food than I care to think about nor catching on fire
there's a reason for the play on names of Norcold and Dometic ..."Not-so-cold"... etc

Why my last 3 rv's have had residential fridges...

I don't completely know about the three degree thing. Some fridges are going to be finiky, and some will work just about no matter how you are parked. Some of the tracks we go do I am just about forced to park the rv in a less than ideal place to get the trailer in a usable area. Sometimes the jacks just won't get us all that close. I have not had a problem yet.

Thanks everyone. It sounds like I also "should" turn it off while driving in hilly conditions then, which is about every trip here in Oregon.

While we have had some problems keeping ice cream frozen while parked overnight on a hill, we have never turned off our fridge driving in the mountains and have never had any issues. Not in the Cascades, Sierras or the Rockies. I'd leave it on.

No, we are talking level while parked
Not driving. When driving there is enough movement it's not a problem (On a functioning unit) Only when parked does leveling come into play
Yes some work fine at all manner of level and some are more finicky than others and may not work whenever level

You should invest in an ARP.

I would turn it off while loading and load fast as possible.

Also, watch Movie RV where his auto-park brake failed. (Block wheels so it does not roll away).
