Passenger side trailing arm broke in half.

My passenger side trailing arm broke in half. It's at Desert Truck Service right now getting new arms from Source Engineering. Since it's already apart I'm paying for the REK to be installed because the current ride is really bad. I'm lucky nothing else broke and my extended warranty is paying for the new arms and labor. I hope to get some money back from AAA and Prizm for the $1,200 tow. The coach is a 38' 2008 Cayman with almost 17K miles.

AAA was no help. They called trying to find a tow truck that could flat tow the RV but couldn't find one within the area and said find one yourself. I did have some real good luck. A California City Police officer came to my rescue. He said we were parked in front of an apartment complex that was not safe because of the bad tenants! He not only stayed with us the whole time (about 6hrs) but also found us the tow truck. He then gave the tow truck driver a police escort to the service shop to make sure there was no low bridges in our way. Great guy. I thanked him a million times and also got his card so I can send a letter to his boss. Also going to send one to AAA for not helping!

BTW driving the RV up that ramp was scary fun. At one point I saw nothing but sky because the pitch was so high!

I see, thanks. Is that a fancy term for an aftermarket repair solution to a manufacturers problem? How long will you be tied up for?

Yep. Bad arms from factory. Not sure. Parts are on the way. I had my tow jeep with us so we packed up the pets and food and went home.

For those what's new to th'game, REK stands for the Ride Enhancement Kit that some folks will install at the same time as the upgraded trailing arms. Also, I heard a comment a little while ago that the REK difference in ride and handling may not be worth the expense. Has anyone else felt this or heard this?

Get Coach Net as Perry White said. They were great when I broke down, found a tow truck and called many times to check on us even 2 days later. Paid the entire tow, almost $1000. Tow was about 100 miles.

Bummer... Sorry about the breakage... Hope you get back on the road quickly...

As has been said - Coach-Net is for us big boys (and cars). AAA is basically just for cars. Some chassis manufacturers use Coach-Net as their new vehicle warranty tow.

Coach-Net found and paid for my $2,500 low-boy tow from the remote eastern CA Sierras. I did have to insist that Coach-Net find me a low-boy and not a flat tow - but they prevailed.

I've been very happy with Good Sam RV Insurance. I pay $2.00 every 6 months for Tow Service. Used it a few times and they do a TERRIFIC job and also keep in contact with you to make sure it all goes well. On two of my cars they have FREE lifetime towing....even if I sell them to someone else.

My experience is contrary to what you have heard; I had the Source trailing arms but the ride was so stiff that the plumbing was coming loose and the clothes would not stay on the closet bar; installed the REK 203 and the coach rides better than my 96 8-bag executive. MY wife and I are thrilled with the results also with the fan upgrade.
