patching holes in the wall

I removed my freestanding dinettea while back and coverted to a booth. There are some unsightly holes in the wall from the old screws. Any suggestions on how to patch it?

I suppose it very much depends on the colour and structure of your walls.

Often it is not the best thing to try to cover things up in an attempt to "make it disappear". Sometimes it is better to make what I call "an honest repair" where things "don't disappear", but the repair is tidy.

Maybe drill out the holes slightly to get a clean edge, and then insert a plug along the line of this? These plugs come in all sorts of colours and sizes.

Alternatively you get a large photo of your mother in law - put it in a frame and hang it so that it covers the holes Sorry - I just couldn't help my self there.

I recently added MCD shades and had holes where the old string bobbins were mounted for the OEM shades. The holes were in the wallpaper portion of the wall . The first thing I do on these type if holes is take the rounded end of a screwdriver and press on the holes really hard. This makes the burred or flared out edges compress flat and partially close the hole. I got creative and used some plaster repair putty and mixed in a little cinnamon powder that gave me the same color as the wall material. I would have to point out the holes for you to find them now.

On wood, I use the putty pencils that are available at Home Depot or Lowes near the wood stains.

Thanks for all the pointer. I dont have any pictures but it is the regular wallpaper wall. I have about 8 screw holes in random places about the size of a pencil eraser.

Anyone paint their interior ?

We are also removing the dinette and the OEM shades and have the holes in the wall.

Diplomat Don, I do like your solution, but... the DW would of course think that solution to be far too simple and inexpensive. Why don't we paint the interior is her suggestion.

Anyone done it? I'm not sure what paint would adhere to the wallpaper and it's durability.
