Portable air compressor

has anyone out there used a portable air compressor, 150 max. psi, to fill the coach's air tank? my goal would be to be able to fill the tank, which would inflate the air suspension and raise the coach so the slideouts could be deployed. I could start the coach, but they recommend not just starting it if you have no intention of driving it. some things I know 1) Monaco slideouts should only be moved in and out when the coach's air bags are full (at least that is what I have read in the instruction manual and what I read on this forum, and 2) the portable compressor would need a water filter so the air going in the tank is dry. I have an air chuck fitting up in the generator compartment. any thoughts?

Are you talking about when you're out on the road or when it's in storage? I wouldn't worry about starting it a time or two without driving it, but I wouldn't do it regularly.

I have a Porter Campbell 150 PSI I bought at Lowes, about $100.00 I use to air my tires had it about 10 years. Sears also sell a small 2 tank one that works well.

mostly when in storage. if it is sitting in driveway for more than a week, I air down (right side will sag after 7 days, exactly 7 days) if we want to spend some time in it with the slides out, I have to start it, let it air up, drive it at least until it warms up completely, return, shut it off, put out slides. if I could plug in a portable compressor, I could just air up and put slides out. the slide procedures are the only thing I DO NOT like about the Monaco.

Not sure about the specs of your coach. A lot of them have an on board compressor that run periodically to keep things level. Maybe one is there that isn't running?

I bought mine under the Craftsman name. I'm not sure if they still carry it. It's a great unit and recommended frequently here at irv2.

Only if you have air leveling.

Same one I have Cliff.... While I like it, and will use until it breaks

There are others that are much more compact that can do as good a job...
