Hi gto19,

Not sure if this is the same problem but my door awning quit working awhile back. It worked perfectly one day and the next it just would'nt work. Checked voltage at the controller and at the switch all ok. I decided to take the motor apart, I loosened the two screws to the body of the motor an wiggled the body case. I thought I'd give it one more try before I disassembled it and viola, it worked and it's worked ever since. Maybe one of the brushes got hung up or the motor got too much tension/torque on the gears when it last closed.

I had the same problem, some days it would work and some days it wouldn't. I finaly figured out there was a short between the switch and the motor. I ran new wires from the switch threw the vinyl door trim and into an overhead cabinet. You can check your motor by finding the feed wires (check the colors at the switch) in the overhead cabinet, disconnect them, and hook them up to a 12 or 18 volt cordless drill battery. Reversing the wires will reverse the motor direction. I hope this helps.....Bruce
