Power Gear leveling jacks on Endeavor 2006

The leveling jacks didn't retract properly the last time I left a camp ground. There was a warning sound and warning lights from the control pad but I figured that the jacks were retracted enough to allow me to hit the road. After a few minutes the warning sound and lights went off.

Reading the manual, I figure that the hydraulic reservoir might be low and needs to be refilled. However, I have no clue where the reservoir is and what type of oil is needed.

The coach is now stored for the next 3 months in Florida (I live in Montreal, QC) but when I go back down in March, I would like to have the jacks working.

Some help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Luc,
The Powergear leveling system on my 07 Dip uses Dextron III ATF. My pump and reservoir are located behind the door that covers the A/C condenser, which is directly in front of the left rear bay where the power cord reel is.

Once you get your unit serviced up, make sure your jacks fully retract. One of mine lacked about 3/4" going full up. When I took it off and tore it down, I found the piston partly unscrewed from the rod. New seals and back together made it as good as new. Earlier I posted a report on rebuilding these jacks including seals, which don't cost very much. This is a job that an average handyman can do. If you need info on this, PM me.

Good luck,

Roy

Luc,
Per your request, here are a couple pictures. The pump and reservoir are located on the driver's side of the coach, behind the door just in front of the one at the left rear where your power cord real is. On the 07, the access door is held closed by Southco cam-action latches that can be opened with your barrel key. The A/C condenser is on hinges held closed by the same kind of latch. Your coach may have doors that swing up vs sideways and instead of latches, this one may be held shut by screws driven up from the bottom.
