The Power Gear jacks on my '03 Admiral would not drop down. After extensive troubleshooting, it was determined that while the pump would run, there was no hydraulic pressure. Verdict: Cannot be repaired, replace the pump unit, $1300! This was done. I brought the old unit home and easily took it apart. I found the pump impeller gear connected to the motor was broken. The way it was keyed to the shaft, a tiny little cylinder between the inside of the gear and the shaft, stressed the gear and split it. $1,300 for a new pump that could have been easily repaired with a small replacement part, with cooperation from the manufacturer!
Power Gear used to be an enjoyable and helpful company and in the past I was very happy to have Power Gear equipment in my unit. No more! Now they apparently have no interest in customer satisfaction, will not take customer inquiries and direct you back to a repair facility if something goes wrong: Don't fix, buy new, $$$. Will I tell others? You bet I will!
So, I have a good Power Gear pump unit, 6 Qt Vertical, Model S200T which only needs a replacement motor driven impeller. If anyone has this unit with something else wrong, – motor, manifold, etc., you could possibly save a bundle.
I also have a pair of rear jacks, 9,000 lb., which came on my unit. They were not adequate to level my unit more than a couple of inches on a side. They would be probably be adequate for rear axle loads below 12,000 lbs.
