Power Reel stopped working

I have a TDI Products 50 Amp Power Cord Reel, Model 5036, that stopped working. I can hear the motor when I push the switch, but the reel does not turn. I can roll the cord reel in and out by hand. For those of you who have been there / done that, is there a limit switch that disengages the reel from the motor? The reason I mention that is because the reel stopped working after the plug in on the cord hung up on the back side of the reel after I reeled it in too far. On my Camelot the reel is difficult to get to but not impossible. I think I can get to it from the back closet after removing the drawers of a small cabinet and a piece of plywood flooring. I spoke with one of the owners of TDI and they offered a reconditioned exchange reel for $300 (new $600). The company is located near Neptune, Florida (Jacksonville). They are helpful, but they are not a repair company. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Check your fuse...The power reel in my old Dynasty stopped working and I found a fuse near the back side of the switch. The power water hose reel and power cord reel was on this circuit.

I can hear the motor and the fuse is good. Power water reel works good.

There is a rectangular box on the side of the reel, held on by 4 screws. If you remove that cover you will see that the motor drives a belt to move the reel. It sounds like the belt is off or broken.

Just spoke with Todd at TDI Products. He said the motor is inside the reel and suspects a gear is broken. He offered to exchange out the unit with a repaired unit for approximately half the cost. He further said replacing the gear(s) is a difficult job. Since they are not a RV repair shop, I will need to remove the reel from my coach. Removing the reel will involve removing a cabinet in the rear closet to access screws holding down a plywood floor covering the reel and then disconnecting the associated electrical wires. For now, until I get to TDI, I can reel it in and out by turning the reel. Thanks for your reply..........I wish it would have been that easy for my reel model.
