Anyone have a problem with their power sun visors? They are made by the Canadian firm Automotion Shade. First indication of trouble was a blown fuse. When I replaced the fuse, the passenger side worked fine but the driver's side went down and now refuses to roll back up.
I searched the forum and found a similiar problem with visors in a Winnebago Journey back in 2007. Apparently these visors use some kind of a limit switch similiar to a garage door opener. The Winnebago thread talks about some pushbuttons that mine does not have. Anyone have recent experience with these units?

I would be interested in any replies to this question as well. I have the power shades on my coach as well. The driver's side worked OK, then decided it would not retract fully in the up position, Now it will not move up or down, kind of starts to move, then nothing. Help us out here guys, I'm sure someone else has had these same problems. Thanks in advance!

You may jave to give it a tug or push to get it going. Mine regularly blew the 5 amp fuse. I replaced it with a 7.5 and haven't had an issue since.

I have a 2004 Diplomat and have just had this same problem, I took it to the shop and they just took the panel out and worked the wiring on the switch and it started working again, but then it stopped again so I ordered a switch and when it came in they started to replace the switch and the old one started working again, I told them to leave the old one in and if it starts to give me trouble again I will replace it myself. As of right now the old one is working just fine, it wont be too hard to replace if it stops again. Dont know if that helps but thats my experience.

So far, I've disassembled the shade down to the internal motor. It uses two threaded rods that are geared to a sleeve in the shade tube to move a pair of linear actuators that press something in the motor case. It appears to be similiar to the travel limit switches inside a garage door opener. Also found the wiring that enters the motorized assembly was exposed due to cracked/deteriorating insulation at the edge of where heat shrink tubing was applied. It's possible that heat applied to shrink the tubing also caused the insulation to become brittle. That probably explains the blown fuse.
I did send an email to the company up in Canada but have not gotten any reply.

How did you get it out? I have been unable to see how to remove it thus far.

There is a screw that fastens the roller tube to the drive end of the motor assembly. The assembly is not real easy to remove - you need a good set of pliers to pull it out.
I've been in contact with the company in Canada. They believe the motor's gone bad but so far no resolution on what to do.
