My passenger side powered sun visor brackets broke and I can not find a brand name on them anywhere. I would like to just replace the side brackets (on both drivers and passengers) or replace the whole darn thing.

Any suggestions?

It broke while driving down the road and startled the heck out of us. I had to drive 10 miles with it hanging on by the wire.

I had the same happen on the passenger side powersun visor in our coach. The visors in our coach were made by Carefree of Colorado. I called them and luckily they had the end caps (which have the mounting tabs) in stock and sent them no charge.

I had the same thing happen about 6 mo. ago. I called Carefree and they told me I had to purchase the motor along with the caps. (Over $200). I told them that was the crazyest thing I had ever heard of. They said no compromize. I repaired mine using the stainless steel band of a radiator hose clamp. I drilled the band so as the screws that hold the cap on, hold the band, let the band overlap the broken part of the cap. Fits and works great. I hope you have better luck with Carefree than I did.

Mike,

I don't know why I could get no co-operation from Carefree. The service rep. I talked too, could have cared less for my problem. I give him the ser.# and he immediately told me it was not available without the motor. I told him, I have the end cover in my hand, the motor is laying on the work bench. They are 2 seperate parts. He said, I don't care, they come together. Hope I never need another part from Carefree.

Larry,

I can certainly understand that. My end cap doesnt have the motor in it either. When I spoke to Carefree, the woman I spoke with was very helpful. Apparently my power visors are an older style. The newer ones; as I understand have motor built into the caps. Again, i guess I got lucky. Sorry you had such a bad experence.

LeeB......I don't know what it is about the passenger side. Mine fell off as we were setting up camp about six months ago. I used a small piece of sheet metal and made two new brackets using the screw hole on the cover. I painted them black and replaced them. The weak point was the small screw used in the plastic bracket. I removed the screws on the driver's side and installed a large washer to catch more surface area around the screw holes.

Go to the electrical department at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and look for some gray plastic conduit "C" brackets. Can't remember whether you need the 1 1/2" or 2" as I bought both so I would'nt have to go back. Paint them black and simply fit over the broken end and use 2 screws to attach them to ceiling. Did mine over a year ago and no problems. Cheap fix.

Mine broke on my 06 Exec. Cheap plastic parts not able to handle the job it was meant to do. I would not bother to replace this part with a new one of same poor quality. The repairs mentioned above may not be pretty, but they will work.

Yep the driver side on my 05 Exec broke going down the road (yea ha). And yes carefree gave me the same kind of service (buy the entire motorized kit). And that was about 2 years ago.
