Hi all - Have a 2000 Windsor DP. On the front firewall is a solenoid type switch that has a vacuum line going to the big black softball that typically controls the dashboard doors for AC, Heater, Defrost, etc. ( In cars!!).
Air comes in on one side and the opposite side has a small nipple type valve/bleeder/pressure relief switch??
The attached picture shows the complete valve. I am looking for a name to order the small piece sticking out on the bottom right in the picture. It shows a vac line coming off it and going up. The valve screws into the solenoid and has a small vac elbow off it. It is BAD - Blows out pretty serious air when I start the engine. Any help in identification would really help!
Thanks

Bernie,
A few years ago there was a discussion about
that valve. As I recall, they determined it was a Ford part. You might try and stop by a Ford dealer and see if they can match it up for you.

That is a RV218234 - Vacuum Pump.

Your local Ford dealer may have one, but the above number is not a Ford number. Ford used these on the Super Duty Diesel trucks 2003-2010.

Thanks guys.... I'll try a Ford dealer & see if they know about it. The solenoid itself is fine, it's just that little nipple elbow valve that's blowing air out the end of it.

I don't know if you will be able to find the part by itself. You might try using some all purpose glue from the Lowe's plumbing department. The kind that will glue all sorts of plastic pipes - not just PVC. A little dab of that may seal the hole or split in the part. Fixed a water leak in a headlight with that stuff. No more water getting in.
