My '09 Camelot 42FKQ did not have a solar panel installed. However, it is
pre-wired for a panel (and Sunsaver Duo controller). On the roof, there is a
red lettered label that says something like "Solar panel wires below". But,
drilling though the roof is something I want to do only once so I'm wondering if
anyone has done this? And know exactly where the wires are and a hole needs to
be drilled? Suggestions?

Thanks for you help,

== John

John,

I have a 2007 Diplomat that was pre-wired with the red spot on the top of the roof and I drilled it and found my wires. My friend also has a 2007 pre-wired Diplomat and when he drilled his he could not find the wires so he manually ran the solar wires and resealed the roof with silicone and then a coating of roof sealant over that after the silicone has cured.

Be prepaired to fish for the wires like I did. I installed 3 -100 Watt panels.

According to the guy who installed my panels, you have a 70/30 chance of finding the wires under the label on Monacos. And it will be 10#. Since I wanted three panels, he ran a 8# up and out a hold that he drilled and ran it across the roof.

I'm planning to have solar panels installed in Winterhaven Ca. next week and I'll let you know how it works out with the wires. Just curious how many panels are you planning to put on your coach? I do alot of dry camping so I'm looking at a minimum of 4 - 130 watt panels and left it open to go as many as 6 panels. This might be overkill but I now have 8 six volt batterys in the coach to charge.
