Bill, The 80-90 is a percent used to set the maximum charge rate allowed to charge batteries during bulk, absorb, float and equalize charging. The MAX CHARGE selections are provided as a percetage of the inverter/charger maximum charging capability. Most should be set a 80 which means it should take about 4 1/2 hours to completely charge your batteries to maximum charge. At 90 percent the charger would take half that time, however the charger has to work almost twice as hard. This is all selected using the "Tech" button on the inverter remote. Hope this helps.
