I had my empty propane tank on the 2001 endeavor a couple of days ago. We set out on a trip and the frig didn't stay on with propane. I didn't want to mess with it until we got to our destination so used the generator when we arrived and hooked to shore power I forgot to check the propane problem. We used the heat pumps for heat until the next morning and I thought about turning on the furnace. It wouldn't lite. So I checked the tank and all the valves were opened. I tried the top stove burners nothing was doing out. I don't know if the guy who filled the tank purged it first or not. Could it be a thermocouples? Any ideas out there.

Hi mknight,
Sounds like your not passing gas..........
OK try turning the shut off valve on the tank off then slowly open and listen for the passing of gas..... Light the stove first as most likely the farthest down stream on your lp system.....but if your tank is empty....well its empty!! see answer 1...
Richard

I did all that Richard. And the tank is full. No gas has past (with exceptions) from the tank to stove.

So if the stove works ?..try the furnace.. several times, and listen for the clicking of the ignitor ..you may have to clean the orifice and adjust ignitor tips... do you have hot water?

If the stove works let it burn for a few minutes to purge any air in the line and try again. When i have trouble getting either the furnace of the hot water heater to light I run the stove for a couple minutes, seems to work for me.

Nothing works on propane. No propane or air comes through the stove or any thing else.

MKnight,

Give us a little more information. Have you used the propane on this coach before? What is the temperature where you are? Is it below freezing? Maybe your regulator has ice in it. I would start by closing the valve at the tank and disconnecting the regulator from the tank. Then gently open the valve to see if propane comes out. If it does then you may have a problem with the regulator. If it does not then either the tank is empty or the internal safety valve is stuck.

Good luck,

Bob

I don't know where you're at but if it's below freezing or close to it, it sounds like your regulator has frozen up. It happens on occasion. We used to swap them out as they aren't too expensive, but you could try removing it and warming it up I guess. I would also suggest you take it to a propane dealer, tell them about your problem, and see if they don't suggest adding some methanol to your tank to prevent future issues. It's like an anti freeze for propane.

On my 01 Diplomat, sister to your Endeavor, on the outside behind the LP door, there is a switch that must be turned on to allow gas to flow. In addition the valve on the tank must be open. Sounds like you have checked the valve, so look for the switch. Also check the propane detector inside the coach to see if the green light is ON. If it isn't, no gas will flow.

McKnight my last coach had a switch that allowed you to shut off the gas without manually closing the hand valve. Does your coach have that option? If so flip the switch and listen for the valve to operate.

Ok guys. I just returned with the DW from the Lucky Eagle Casino in Del Rio Texas. I was "lucky" to win $600 and coming home to your replies to my problem ,luck ran my way again. I was wondering what that switch was for. I suppose reading the manual again would be a good thing. Thanks for saving me a service call and another nights sleep over our "New to us" Endeavor. I hope by the time we go full time I will be familiar with it. Our 95 and 99 Eagle didn't have that feature.

Mike best to make sure YOU turn that switch off before each LP refueling and then turn it ON yourself after. Good habit to get into.

Thank you. The person who filed the tank probably turned it off and I didn't know to turn it back on.
Would you know if the heater in the water and dump station compartment turns on automatically when the outside air reaches a certain temp or can it be activated at any outside temp. I can't make it work.

Mine has a switch inside which supplies power to the bay heater. In the bay with the heater there is a snap disc thermostat set to close at 40 degrees, this turns the bay heater on.
