Proper way to weigh a rig

I have weighed my Dynasty before but not correctly I think, I weight the complete rig, I then did the front axle only then I did the rear drive and tag together, I think I should do that plus weigh with just the tag on the scale total rear weighed less the tag weight should give me the drive axle weight I think, how are others doing it?, we are not anywhere close to heavy, but for tire pressure settings I would like the real numbers

Go to a rally that offers individual wheel weighing. That way you can adjust cargo left and right maybe.

As you worry about the "real" numbers to use for setting tire pressures, I offer these three thoughts.

First, one or two pounds either way is actually within the measurement error of many tire gauges.

Second, the majority of your trip is done with tire pressures several pounds above what they were aired to, due to the heating of the tires on the road. So for most of your trip, a couple of pounds of cold under-inflation is quickly more than compensated for.

Third, our rigs typically have anywhere from a couple of hundred gallons to as much as four hundred gallons or more of liquid in the fresh, gray, black, propane and fuel tanks that usually lay laterally across the coach. Few roads are level, in order to provide drainage and/or improved cornering comfort. That represents a lot of pounds that can be moved to either side of the coach in seconds.

The bottom line is that it is important to know that your axles, wheels and tires aren't overloaded. It is good to know if the coach is heavily loaded to one side or the other, but it is unlikely that the load from one side to the other would warrant different tire pressures.

I'm not suggesting you don't weigh your coach on each wheel, as it would be good information to have, once. But it is likely that you won't gain tire life or value by adjusting your tire pressures from side to side as a result of what you learn by weighing each wheel on a level plane.

Tire pressures are given for cold tires, driving on them changes the hot pressure, but all the charts go by cold pressure. If they're under-pressurized when cold, then they're under when hot too.
Also, you NEVER run different pressures on the same "axle". You use the highest weight on an "axle" across all tires on that "axle".
The above info is printed in Michelins, Goodyears and I think Toyo's RV booklets as is the proper weighing procedure so it's NOT internet "rumors".

Here's a link to the Michelin one, good reading with the correct info in it.
Here's a link to the Michelin weighing guide.

OK, thanks the Michelin link showed the way to do it, I will weigh the front axle, whole rig, then drive axle, then the tag, thats 4 weights, I may also weigh the whole left side, then the right side just to see how close they are

That is not correct. Actually the full coach weight is just for you.
What you really need is 6 different weights.
Front axle
Rear axle
Tag axle
One side only of each axle (calculate the opposite side).

One rule is that all tires on the same axle get inflated the same.
You will probably never have a axle with even weight on both ends.

You use the highest weight on that axle, use that number when looking up the recommended pressure in the tire chart.
Remember there is a different column for duals.

If you dont do it this way, you may pick a pressure which will leave a tire under inflated.

Regards,
Dan
