Protecting the Jeep toad !!!

My Jeep windshield cracked from a rock chip - don't know if it was when towing (doubtful) or when just running around...

But I guess I never knew how much sandblasting, etc... it had on it !
The new one is SSSSSSSSOOOOOOO clear, I actually had to put a fingerprint on it to make sure it was there

Just to make sure it's not when towing, I ordered this:
https://www.amazon.com/Coverking-Cus...WH76D98X0A9QE6

Not really concerned about the front of the Jeep since enough 4 wheeling scratches that, but like the clear windshield !

Assuming it stays on @ speed, I have to wonder that with it constantly buffeting off the windshield for thousands of miles what kind of impact that will have on the finish on the glass?... if any?

I know that seems to be the knock on front protective bra's by many folks is that they buffet while driving and over time dull the paint finish.

Keep us informed

Happy Trails

Won't do much to protect the rest of your toad. I bought a Protect-a-tow last year and it really keeps all the road debris down under the vehicle.

Protect-a-Tow

Takes about 2 minutes to put on.

Have had a protect-a-tow, so will use it as well...

The ordered cover should be in first of next week and we are going from DFW to Kentucky right after, so we'll see...

I totally agree on paint finish being 'rubbed' from a nose bra - a previous sports car had the mfg's version that should have fit very well and it was as if it had been sand blasted

But still curious on the windshield and fitment for this... will be the guinea pig

I DID take the mud flap off - and was STUNNED how heavy that thing is !!! it could move a boulder if it hit it !!!

so hopefully between the Protect-a-Tow, the windshield cover, and removing the mud flap should help ! (as well as improving mpg after taking off the 100 lb flap!)

I tried a similar product on a 08 JKU X

It was something my now x wife wanted, she searched and ordered what she wanted. On our first trip using the windshield protector we drove through a heavy rain storm and the way the product was designed, the straps enter the doors which relished in lots of water collecting inside the Jeep. We never used the cover again.

With the almost vertical windshield, rock chips are the norm with these vehicles just driving around as a daily driver.

I made one out of a yoga mat & some webbing, so far it has worked great.

I made one from vinyl with a soft backing for my Ram truck. It works well but I have to use spring clips over the wiper arms to hold it down, otherwise it blows out from under the wipers. Velcro didn't work.

I had one on a Geo Tracker which didn't blow out from under the wipers, different airflow, I guess.

Have you removed that big "MONACO" mud flap from the rear of your coach? I was told , when Alaska that the flap actually flipped up gravel on the front of our toad. I took our big flap off and the mess on the front of our Jeep has indeed decreased.
