Craig do you need a tent?
Richard (jeep Trekker) we all run are genny and aqua hot just not after 10pm and before 6am.
Bill W uses the ele blanket all night so he need to turn on the genny about 5am he is so thoughtful of others is why he pulls out side the circle.

Rich,

I hope not . I may be with another rig, the search is on. If that falls apart I will hotel it and rent a car or truck to come visit. Just way too much going on right now to drive from Atlanta and back and then some other family obligations.

I just do not want to miss out

Aggie & I are looking forward to seeing everyone again this year. We are planning to arrive on Jan 14 for 6 days. Aggie will bring home baked cookies and I still have a load of firewood. Mark

Is running a generator 24/7 a problem when boondocking at Quartsite?

Not if you are parked where no one else can hear you...

Why would you need to run it 24/7?

YES! BLM land has "quiet hours" of 10pm to 6am. These are also the hours that the Monaco group use...

I'm not a Q "veteran"--I've only been once, but never want to miss one from now on, and it's a 2500 mile one-way trek for me. So, perhaps I'm speaking out of turn, but my one visit to Q introduced me to the friendliest group I've ever camped with. If you have a reason you have to run a genny more than normal, and you attempt to be considerate about it (noise and fumes) I think you will get nothing but accommodation from all these great folks who attend.

I was unaware of the BLM genny restrictions, and I do not know the reason you need to run the genny so much, but I've known folks with respiratory issues that had to maintain AC and respiratory equipment full-time. My wife has some issues like that, but we have managed them without running the genny excessively. Hope you can work it out.

The electrical loads in our coach will discharge the batteries to 50% depth of discharge in about 4-hours. I'd rather run the generator continuously than change our power usage or add more battery & weight.

I'd like to go to Quartsite to see what it's like and have no desire to cause problems...
