Good evening,
For those of you that have visited Quartzsite during the big rv happening did you enjoy it and would you recommend it? What tips would you be willling to share to make the adventure more pleasurable?
Because of an injury to my left foot I have been off work for three weeks with three more to go and I'm starting to get a little cabin fever here and since the injury is to my non driving foot I'm thinking why not take advantage of the time.
Thanks for any replies.

We've been through Quartzsite many times and were always curious, but never had an RV when the Big Event was happening. Now we have a MH and everyone we talk to says you have to do QZ at least once. Many return year after year. We are going with an open mind and know we will enjoy it. We used to tent camp in the desert at the end of the road so this will be really luxurious.

Well bummer. I guess its Wisconsin to a couple of birthday parties for the week-end instead. Copilot couldn't arrange enough time off for the 3400 mile round trip it would require to quartzsite. Really didn't want to make that trip alone either but I admit I was looking forward to the adventure.

To repeat, if you've never been there during "The Show" you should do it at least once. Boondocking isn't as primitive as it once was, there are now portable cell towers to give you phone service. Be sure and get one of the aerial photos showing the thousands upon thousands of RV's packing the landscape. More and more people are doing day trips from Phoenix so it gets really packed sometimes. Don't count on using your car to get around, you might get around but yu won't find a place to park!

Anyone know of a place in QZ that will accept UPS or FedEx delivery. I
know I can have mail sent to the PO via General Delivery but the PO
does not accept UPS or FedEx packages. I was hoping to have a purchase
sent to me while in QZ & they will not ship US mail only UPS or FedEx.

Drifter,
Thanks very much for the link to camping in the area. I just revisited that topic. A lot of good information there.
Unfortunately I won't be able to go this year because the wife couldn't get the time off and probably a good thing as I was off work because of a foot injury. As of Wednesday my employer decided I could be useful doing my previous position there while I'm on restricted duty. Had the wife got the time off probably would have went and made it half way to Quartzsite and had to turn around.
Anyway enough about my situation. Thanks again for the reply.

The UPS Store (in NC) has told me that any UPS Store can accept UPS packages (you have to tell them first that you plan to receive a package there). I would imagine that the Fedex/Kinko's places will accept Fedex packages. As for if there are any in Quartzsite, I couldn't tell you. There may be a package shipping place there that can receive your package for you. Talk to your local UPS or FEDEX shipper to see what they can tell you. You may also try their online sites.

We've never been there, but would like to see any photos with all the RVs if someone has any. I used Mapquest and Google Maps to look at the location from the Satellite view but couldn't see anything but a lot of desert and mountains.

Well...do ya think you can delete the link before Sacs sees it? I will never get to Quartzite ...at least not with Sacs if he sees those photos!!
