We purchased a used 2006 Diplomat 40PDQ about two weeks ago and are still trying to figure some things out.

We cannot find where to turn on the map light on the drivers side. We know it is not the bulb because I swapped bulbs with the passenger side which works.

There is a switch next to the Side Dock light switch on the lower left side of the instrument panel. The name of the switch is Aux light and it does not turn on the map light. What does it turn on?

I looked in the manual for answers to these questions but cannot find them.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

For the map light try turning your headlight switch all the way to the left. That turns on our driver's side map light. The Aux Light switch controls our fog lamps. Should for your unit as well.

My Grand-Daddy used to say that if you learned even one thing today, you were entitled to go to bed early tonite. Too bad I learned about the lighting this late in the evening (gee, can I get up later tomorrow to make up for it??).

I never could get my driver-side lite to work either and just assumed it was a wiring error, but never got that ambitious to go to the trouble of figuring out what and where.

Many many thanks for the discussion, guys!!

Thanks for the help Bill, it is as you say. I had tried the headlamp switch but I went in the clockwise direction and did not try it the other way.

At first when I tried to get the fog lamps to work with the AUX switch I could not get them to work but realized the headlights were on bright. To get the fogs to work the headlamps needed to be on dim and the ignition must be on.

Many thanks again and I am glad my post helped ronboc to.

Hi on my 06 Endeavor I can turn on the one above the driver window and the left light under the TV by turning the headlight switch all the way counter clockwise. You can also turn on either of the lights under the TV by pushing in on them.
