I have some dimmer switches like the ones shown here - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte...0102374114%26fvi%3D1

I have seen them in a couple of Safaris I looked at once, so I know they are used in them. My question is this: are these dimmers attached directly to the wall, or is there a base between the switch and the wall?

In this picture - http://www.boomspeed.com/barryblades...reAssembly.jpg there is a switch and a base. This is how all of my switches are. I am wondering if a similar base is used in the dimmer switch.

Thanks for any help -
