Questions for Nevada Residents

My wife and I are looking to move back to Nevada and had a few questions for fellow RV'rs living there.

We are looking in Minden/Gardnerville area and from what I found on the internet you do not have to smog vehicles, but do you have to smog upon registering it for the first time in Nevada? Again from what I've read you don't have to but looking to confirm.

How do vehicle registration fees in Nevada compare to California, thinking cheaper.

Thx
