And in Texas this time of year, it's still a 100 degrees or more after the engine is cold. If you have slide-outs, you better have that extra AC unit to cool that extra space.

CC,
That's a great idea. When your recent post on adding a 3rd AC it motivated me to see if my duct works was sound and I noticed mine seemed to be long but did not measure them. Think I will revisit, that much extra length will certainly impact air flow.

QUICK REPAIR TO BATHROOM AC DUCT BREACH

After finding electrical wires breaching the driver's side air conditioning duct just aft of the bathroom vent, I removed the panel in the medicine cabinet and applied foil tape as a quick fix and found that the tape does not adhere well to the ceiling material. A better fix was to use expanding foam around the hole and wires as shown in the photos below. Although there is a minimum amount of blockage to one side of the duct, it stops the cold air from traveling down into the basement via the medicine cabinet. This was a very fast fix and the foam was only $5.

TAKING CONTROL OF FURNACE AIR FLOW

Last winter when we camped near Atlanta in the snow with an excellent Aqua Hot furnace, we had no ability to control heat flow to the bedroom, bathroom, or kitchen. As a result, most of the heat went to the bathroom, the rest to the kitchen, and little or none to the bedroom. The Monaco solution was to add a bedroom vent at the heat exchanger.

I recently researched floor registers and replaced the existing registers with 2.25" x 10" Perimeter Floor Diffusers from www.registers-direct.com. Notice the thumb control in the photos below. The tan color for the bathroom and kitchen were only $8.56 each, but we went over the top in the bedroom with bronze, which tacked on an additional $12.50 for an order total of around $50. I did have to use the Dremel Tool for about 5 minutes on the tile opening in the kitchen to grind off excess grout. This is a quick a cheap fix to take control of the furnace air flow for these areas.

CheetahGirl and I have been running into a lot of campgrounds with sewer hook-up pipes that are larger than the fitting on the end of the Sani-con hose. We havn't bought a doughnut yet but we found a REAL easy fix to keep sewer fumes from comming out of the gap between the pipe and the hose. We took "GLAD Pres'n Seal" cellophane rap and pressed it over the pipe and hose. I'm able to get it sealed around the hose and the pipe with no leaks or fumes. A real easy thing to do. All you have to do is get a roll and keep it around. Oh yeah, it's also good for food too!

Well, we finally just went ahead and spent four bucks and bought a rubber doughnut. Duhhh. Boy, it sure took us awhile to do that.

Shifting Storage in Bays.

I have a backpack water pumper, for cleaning windows and siding. To store, I installed 2 large hooks through the rear wall of the storage bay using a 3" stainless steel bolts, rubber washer, metal washer and locking nut.

To secure my Black and Decker battery operated scrubber, I installed 2 rubberized twist ties with a cable clamp to the rear wall of the storage bay.

Gordon,

Where did you find those big rubberized twist ties? They look like they'd come in handy for a lot of uses.

Sacs has spent some time getting this Mod done...

and

He has put a Wilson trucker antenna up on the TV antenna mast - ran the wires into the cabinet above the door and that is where the amplifier, wireless router & cords are for the computer & cell phone. I will also do a full post in the near future...

While traveling last Nov. from our last service in Elkhart, we heard a funny rattle that service or I could not find. Through chance I found that the front left fender came loose at bottom and was flying in the wind. So at a truck stop I used a self tapping screw to hold it until I could check out. Hear are some pics of what I found on all fenders. I feel that these under sized screws were installed improperly at the factory.

Broken and missing screws

Up sized screws

These are how three fenders were repaired. The Lt. rear fender was glued on so that one will be repaired later.

I was going to edit this into an earlier post but it seems I can't.

Added the SmartLite outside light. I painted the outside black and clearcoat and installed it using existing hardware/holes. Definitely better light and the motion sensor was a welcome plus.

Added two vented wire shelving to the lower part of the closet for folded storage.

Hinged the louvered door under sink to open and close

Added wireless thermometer for outside and inside temperature. The sending unit is wedged under the slide on the driver's side to get shaded outside temp. Another thermometer has it's wireless sending unit inside the water bays so I can monitor temp inside in case bay heater gets overworked or quits.

Added removable piece of wire shelving across the wall side of the booth under the table that just rests on the lips for the table to rest on in the down position. This is upside down and the lip keeps the computer printer in place.

Turned the subwoofer under the dinette to face forward and stand up at the rear of the storage space it is in. drilled a circular pattern for the bass to come out directly in front of the opening sounds better, and more useable storage space here. (still need to install the speaker cover for this, I forgot about it till just now.)

Added the king dome Satellite. This was a follow the instructions install but during a HARD ! rain noticed water running down the cable coming in the roof. Resealed area with Dicor and so far all seems well.

Added a Thule Pod to hang an outside TV on the slide under the awning. Painted it black to match the paint. (have all the pieces but have not put together the 2nd part of this, which is to add the 2nd POD to the bedroom wall for the flatscreen to be able to move it from the bedroom to outside with an articulating arm installed on the back of it.)

Per an earlier poster. Loosened the 4 bolts on the sewer Dump and turned the sewer dump to the rear of the compartment facing 45 degree down and toward the tanks. cut excess large hose to SaniCon away leaving a straighter shot to macerator and a cleaner box with more useable space.

Added another 12v power outlet in the switch blank as you walk in the door in order to keep the GPS that Cat uses at the Passenger seat powered without wires strung across the dash and floor.

Bypassed the "salesman solenoid" by putting both cables on one terminal after the switch got inadvertantly turned off one too many times.

While traveling out west I noticed that the hot water was draining on the outside paint, so this is my fix.

If you have H2o comming out of that valve you need to check the water heater. That is a safety valve so the thing will not blow up.

Had the water heater checked and pressure valve replaced. The manufacture stated that an occasional water dribble run off is normal. So that is the reason for the drain tube. Thanks for your comments.

Kathy decided that we needed some sliding shelves under the stovetop and in the pantry. We found a cabinet shop (Woods and Goods) in Lake Havasu City that put them in for $80 each. They measured, cut and sprayed them one day and installed them the next morning. We boondocked on their loading dock, which had a 50 amp hook up, since they do a lot of motorhome work.
