If you get it down to $3,500 somebody likes you. If it goes over $5,000 somebody likes your money.

Hi Doc ! The air conditioning compressor bolt came out and the compressor went into the fan, the fan is plastic and blades broke off and went into the radiator. I have it all out now, and the radiator at the radiator shop but I cant find the right fan for it No one in Portland Or. can find it.

If you can't get anyone at parts at Monaco -- try MegaTech of Oregon and talk to Patty.

I wouldn't buy the fan from Monaco. They'll charge you a fortune for it. You should be able to get it from a Cummins shop, even though it's not technically part of the engine.

If it gets too difficult or expensive to find an OEM radiator try Griffin.
Griffin Radiators and Thermal Products
I had a custom radiator made for my 78 GMC MH and the cost was in the $700-800 range. Excellent product. well worth the money.

Try Horton, they have fan blades and also make a 2 speed elec fan for rear engine diesels.

Jim have a look at this radiator if it will fit when you make you offer to this guy cut the price in half at least or more and he will generally take it. Go to e bay item # 120343323756

I lost the radiator in my 2002 Ambassador three years ago, developed a leak. Rear radiator with 330 Cummins. I had a warranty on that coach. Quote from shop was $2800 with new radiator from Monaco. Only problem I had was Monaco didn't do business with that supplier any longer so the lead time was 8 to 12 weeks, which I didn't want to wait. I had one fabricated from a local shop which cost $1000 more than Monaco. Radiator still going strong when we repalces the coach last year.

I would not purchase the radiator or fan from Monaco for the reason Rob mentions. The folks 2 stalls next to me where we house our MH went to a local shop and they fabricated one up for about $1500 including labor. Look for a radiator shop that specializes in truck and other heavy duty equipment and they can fab one for you. I don't think the Monaco radiators are golden (except the prices) and a good shop should be able to handle the job.

I'll have to agree with EngineerMike, somewhere around $3500 labor and parts. I had a replacement last year at Henderson's Lineup in Grants Pass. Most was labor to pull the trans cooler and replace. Also, I read on one of the blogs that the radiator should be grounded to avoid electrolysis. I had that done also. My radiator core was shot around the edges and could not be fixed. This work was done on our 2001 Ambassador with a Cumins 315 engine.
