Re-carpeting Scepter

After removing the rather dowdy driver’s side rollaway sofa to accommodate some black, leather recliners/ottomans in my Moon Flower Scepter, I decided that cream colored cheap carpet had to go. I’m excited about replacing this with a contemporary carpet. I made a very good buy on a very nice coach so it merited the investment.

I wanted to do the demolition for my installer as I’m pretty particular but needed the carpet out intact for patterns. After 20ish hours, I finished the demo and wanted to share the moment.

This job done right isn’t for the faint of heart. As a fair number of components went in after the carpet was laid, there are not many shortcuts and a fair amount of disassembly. Organization and a game plan are essential. Here’s the old laid out and the new next to tile and decor pillows. I’ll let you know how it goes.

P.S. I can’t seems to flip pic so...

I dont think your installer will need the patterns, i have recarped 2 of our diesel coaches and it was not that hard and never needed a pattern.

Hi Walt!

I hope all’s well !!

I don’t disagree that it can be done without but the installer is a pretty talented guy who’s done work in my home and business so I value his opinion. Although he won’t cut most exactly to pattern, he’ll use them to lay out and cut the shapes in the most efficient way and have a few edges bound that need to be done before the install. Also, having the shapes cut will preclude having to handle so much bulk in the coach. The carpet is pretty cool but also pretty pricey so if wants to do it that way, I’m good with that.
