re-cover slide room floor

can something besides carpet work on the slide room floor

If you have a flush floor slide-out (slide-out floor sits flush with the main room floor) with a flap of carpet your best option is to keep the carpet because that flap conceals the gaps and rollers between the main room and your slide-out floor. If you used a rigid form of flooring (tile or hardwood) on these types of slide-outs rollers and gaps would most certainly be exposed.

On step up slide-outs (like the ones you probably have in your bedroom) I've seen linoleum, tile and hardwood used in addition to carpet.

there are so many trim pieces available that wood and vinyl planks can be installed. I've done it quite successfully
