It appears that no one was killed. This is from the Yahoo Monacoer's group.

Okay, that just creeps me out. Made me remember to not be in a hurry.

Safe travels all,

Thanks for posting a followup to this terrible accident. It was reported in forums when it happened but just the local news outlet accounts were posted, this is the indepth account of the rescue. The brand and model of MH is not mentioned and I can't tell what it is, anybody know? Also follow up on the occupants, particularly the driver would be appreciated if anyone knows.
Ron

Absolutely frightening. Driving one of these monsters is absolutely no joke and a little problem can have a really bad result. Just call me "Right Lane Ron" from now on.

That was nasty!, October issue of Golf Digest has one in also where professional golfer Ken Green was involved.
His brother was driving the coach doing 70 when the right front tire blew out causing him to cross lanes and go off the road into an oak tree, killed the driver, the golfers wife and his dog. Ken Green was thrown clear and messed up pretty bad.

My thoughts,,,, Drive safe and check those tires!

I had a front right blowout 12/31/08 at approx. 65 m.p.h. that caused me to instantly go off the interstate into a 30' deep ravine. Thankfully their were no trees. None of my family members (5) were injured. It caused $21,000.00 in damage, mostly cosmetic. I have since added a Safety Plus steering control unit that advertise to keep the vehicle straight after a front blow-out. I hope I never have to test it.

They were lucky to hit trees to slow the impact. One of the first crashes I had to respond to as an LEO was on I-10 where the driver of an 18-wheeler tanker apparently fell asleep and went head on into a bridge column at about 70MPH. The entire cab was compressed into about 24".

Every time I get impatient when piloting the RV I recall the image of that crash and it slows me down in a hurry.

Here, again, is the Michelin video on how to control your RV when you have a blowout:

Sound like they were driving in bad weather. Wonder what happened? Fell asleep, or hydroplaned on the wet roads?
FYI- I hate driving I-95

After watching the Michelin Video a few months ago, I had the Blue OX Tru-Center installed. I have no desire to test it in this situation, but if it ever happens, I hope it works!
