I had to replace the remote for our 04 Marquie last year. It has been working fine until yesterday. Now it will unlock all the compartmesnt and doors but will not lock them?? Last time I tred to find the control box for the remote I was told it was under the dash and was about 4x2 inches. I never did find it?? Any ideas what might be causing the problem? Of course the replacement remote was spendy!!

FYI . . . in our Country Coach we were also told it might be under the dash. We both crawled around under there with a flashlight (almost need to be a contortionist to do that!) and couldn't find it. Country Coach factory finally directed us to the door. There is a small hole in our door handle assembly that allows us to put a pencil in and "train" remote key fobs. I actually have yet to do it, but that's it's location! And yes, the remotes sure are expensive!

Have someone with good ears listen for relay clicking while using remote. That will direct you to control box. Ours was under dash in our Dynasty. Relays are reasonable and can be purchased at local auto store. Trouble is finding which one is causing problem.

I have a storage bin in front drivers sidet a light on the breaker for of coach that has most of the relays and self resetting breakers. I found the ones for the door unlock and lock. I put a testing light on the breaker that is for unlock(it works) and light came on when remote was pushed. Tried same thing for lock and no power came to the breaker?? Auto store didn't have same relay. Is there anyway to test a relay?? I replaced the relay with one I found in compartment but not sure it was good?? Any other ideas? Seems if I could get power to the breaker the switch would work.

the door lock controller for my 2004 marquis is located beside the passenger seat on the outside wall near the floor. there should be a 6" square wood plate held in place by velcro. reach inside and remove controller. the controller has 2 buttons one red the other black, these are the reprogramming buttons for the keypad and remote.

I am assuming EEESE has located control box. I have been very successful in purchasing relay's from Napa auto parts.

Testing relay. I am using a Echlin 11801 Four pin. For this test

On face side of relay you will see coil/switch diagram. Pins 85 & 86 = coil.
Pins 30 & 87 = switch. Place 12 volt wires on to 85 & 86 polarity not an issue. This will close switch, pin 30 & pin 87 . Using your multimeter read resistence between 30/87 while triggering 12 volts between pins 85/86. This will tell you if relay is working.

Hope you can understand above, this is reading switching while triggering coil to close switch.
